Pride Month is here, and we're loud and proud about it! Our commitment to inclusion lasts all year long, and we love hearing the unique stories of our diverse visitors. This June, we're celebrating Pride Month with festivities just as vibrant as our LGBTQ+ community. See how we're staying vocal and local all throughout June with live performances, exuberant art, and sweet treats.
Live Art on the Big Chair
Our signature big chair is getting a makeover from the incredible Symone Salib, a Cuban/Egyptian portrait painter and street artist based out of Philadelphia. Salib's art highlights diversity and vibrant communities, striving to create a space where people are not only seen but heard. Her live painting of the chair kicks off our Pride Month festivities on Monday, June 6th and Tuesday, June 7th.
Pop-Up Pride Events
Some of Philadelphia's favorite drag queens are taking on the Square in fabulous fashion! On June 11, hit the Square to see Eric Jaffe and Vinchelle sing and strut around while serving up glamour and excellence. Don't miss your chance to experience the magic and snap a picture (in your fiercest pose, of course) with these award-winning queens.
Snap a Selfie
Looking for a prideful photo backdrop? Show off your fashionable fit, shining smile, or tasty treat in front of our Pride flag photo wall right by Starbucks. Then, take time to savor your celebrations by sharing your photos with us on social media by tagging us and using the hashtag #SuburbanSquare.
Grab a Shake
Nothing is sweeter than making a difference, and The Love Shake from HipCityVeg is a prime example. This delicious treat takes a celebratory twist on the classic strawberry shake with shimmery rainbow sprinkles and a rainbow straw. The best part? HipCityVeg is donating five percent of all Love Shake sales to local organizations that directly support LGBTQ+ communities in Philadelphia, New York City, and Washington, D.C. We can't get enough of the sweet ways our tenants give back!
Make a Toast
What's better than a refreshing cocktail for a good cause? All throughout Pride Month, one dollar from the sale of the 11 Pride flag-inspired cocktails at Lola's Garden will go toward four local LGBTQ+ charities. Cheers to celebrations that make an impact!
