Lower Merion High School Jazz Band
The Lower Merion Jazz Band consists of high-school students between the ages of fifteen and eighteen and performs a wide-ranging repertoire of musical styles from swing to rock to Latin among many others. The band rehearses weekly and from February to April, it competes in a series of jazz festivals throughout the Philadelphia area. Well-known throughout the region, the Lower Merion Jazz Band has accumulated various section awards and achievements throughout its existence. During its performances, the Lower Merion Jazz Band strives to connect with audiences on an emotional level, taking all of its pieces a step beyond just notes on the page. With every single performance, the band’s primary goal is to bring passion and energy to the stage so that it can be shared with its audiences.
